Guidance for volunteers
Academics are often challenging for children who have not had a stable home. Helping a child read, understand maths or simply finish homework removes barriers to success. Here is what you need to know:

Proximity
Your location matters. Consider applying if you live close enough to the home for regular attendance not to be an issue.

Schedule
Volunteering hours follow the home's routine. You would usually be allotted a couple of hours per day, or on alternate days.

Periods
Volunteering typically takes place during school holidays, long vacations and break periods.

Contact
After reviewing applications, we may only be able to contact shortlisted volunteers, in line with the needs of the children in the home.
